My Desktop

Windows Users

Using the Citrix technology you can access internal college IT resources and applications from an external source e.g. from your home PC.

If you have already installed the client please now access via this link.

In order to utilize this system you must make sure you have the following installed or available on the PC that you will be using to access the Citrix system:

A Broadband internet connection
An Internet Browser (Internet Explorer 5.X or higher recommended)
The Citrix Web Client Installed (see below)

STEP 1 - INSTALL CITRIX WEB CLIENT

To download the Citrix Client Software, click this link and download the client labelled "Citrix Online plug-in - Web".

Click on the "Click to Download your file now" link

Click on the yellow message bar to install the add-on required by the Download Manager.

Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install.

After successfully installing the client follow the instructions in Step 2 below.

STEP 2 - ACCESS THE CITRIX DESKTOP

Using your internet browser, navigate to this web page.

Note: Add this address to your favourites list to access it quickly in the future.

In the "log in" section (see Figure 2 below), fill in your username, password and the domain (college). These are the same details you would use to log in to a College pc or laptop.

Click the "Log In" button.

Click on the "Desktop" icon (see Figure 3 below).

There may a considerable delay before you get a desktop displayed like the image below. The length of the delay will be determined by the speed of your connection to the internet.

Once the desktop is displayed (see Figure 4 below) you can now access internal applications such as Unit-e or SAM using the icons provided on the desktop, just as you would if using a pc or laptop in the College.

To stop using your remote Citrix desktop and return control to your own PC, Click the "Start" button and "Log Out".

Macintosh Users

On a mac you will need to install the ICA client from here.

Once installed open 'Citrix ICA Client Editor'

Then enter your user information in the format below.

Click save and you can then use the saved link to access your files.
