Broadband
Make sure you get a good deal on your broadband. Decide how much you can afford to spend, and if you're in a shared house discuss with each other what you need and pool your money. One of you will have to put their name on the contract and will be responsible for the bills. Most providers prefer you to pay by Direct Debit and may charge extra for other payment types so you'll need to make sure that whoever's name is on the bill has the funds in their account to cover the payments.

Look for a package with a fast speed that can handle the strain when all of you are online at the same time, and a high download allowance. If there are more than a couple of you sharing a broadband connection you should consider getting an unlimited package. Some providers offer specific student broadband deals with shorter contracts to match the length of the academic year, but if you're staying in your house over the summer, a normal 12 month contract will probably suit you better, and may work out a little cheaper. To check availability and compare broadband packages try Ofcom accredited sites such as Cable.co.uk.
