Places to eat and relax
As you won't spend all your time at College studying or in classes, we have dedicated areas to relax and socialise in, within all our teaching centres. Catering facilities are also available at all centres. The amenities available at each centre are outlined as follows:
Gallowgate Centre
Dino's Coffee Bar: The Gallowgate Centre Students' Common Room is located at the Loch Street entrance and offers a comfortable recreational area and coffee bar service. Here you will find a selection of coffee, hot beverages, cold drinks, rolls, sandwiches, confectionary and snacks.
Opening hours at Dinos are:
- Monday-Thursday: 8.00am-4.00pm
- Friday: 8.00am-3.30pm
Student Refectory: Located in the lower ground east block is Gallowgate's Centre large student refectory, which provides a wide range of hot and cold main courses including vegetarian, daily selection of sandwiches, soup, baked potatoes, pizza, burgers, snacks and a selection of hot and cold drinks.
Opening hours at the Student Refectory are:
- Monday-Thursday: 8.00am-8.30pm
- Friday:8.00am-3.15pm
The Mix2: Located in the lower ground floor of the south block, the Mix2 serves a wide range of hot and cold snacks, including breakfast. They have a soup and salad bar as well as a Costa coffee.
Opening hours at the Mix2 are:
- Monday-Friday: 8.00am-4.00pm
Student Shop: Next to the canteen is the Student Shop, which sells a wide range of confectionary, snacks, drinks, newspapers, magazines and stationery.
Opening hours for the Student Shop are:
- Monday-Friday: 8.00am-3.15pm
Altens Centre
Skyliner Restaurant: Located in the main building on the 2nd floor. You can get hot food from server for breakfast and lunch, as well as offering a self service on all cold foods, fresh fruit and pastries available. Good view to the North Sea.
Opening hours at the Skyliner are:
- Monday – Friday 8.00am–2.00pm
Z-Bar: Also located in the main building, on the 1st floor. There are coffee, fresh sandwiches, pastries and snack bar all available, as well as limited stationery on sale. Good view over the bay of Nigg.
Opening hours at the Z-Bar are:
- Monday-Friday 8.00am–3.00pm (closed 11.00–11.45 for stock taking)
Engine Room: Located in the ground floor of F-Block. In the Engine Room you can find a range of hot and cold foods, soups and sandwiches as well as hot drinks.

Clinterty Centre
Student Refectory: Clinterty has a refectory serving a range of hot and cold main courses including vegetarian, daily selection of sandwiches, soup, baked potatoes, pizza, burgers, snacks and a selection of hot and cold drinks.
